Major new sponsor – Saxtet Publications

Phoenix

Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra are delighted to welcome leading music publisher Saxtet Publications as their new sponsor.

This is a massive boost for the group, especially coming hot on the heels of the appointment of international saxophonist Gerard McChrystal as their patron.

Saxtet Publications owner Tom Bruton said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra in their forthcoming adventures. We hope they will enjoy playing our extensive catalogue of works for saxophone ensemble and, at some point in the near future, get to perform them to a real live audience again!”

Saxtet Publications offers a wide range of music that’s written by, and for, saxophonists. Their catalogue includes works from more than 50 composers and arrangers who, being saxophonists themselves, really understand what each type of saxophone can and can’t do, and how the different ranges and timbres of the instruments fit together for best effect. Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra Chair, Stephen Bashforth, said: “We are thrilled to have Saxtet Publications on board as our sponsor. We already have a fair few Saxtet pieces in our repertoire and are looking forward to trying out many more!”

Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra is currently meeting and learning music online. All being well, they are planning to get back to physical rehearsals early in the New Year.

  • Saxtet Publications were one of the very first publishers to offer sheet music in E-Editions download. Their global reach now extends to sales in over 90 countries each year.
  • The catalogue currently contains over 400 works, many of which appear on the saxophone, clarinet, flute and oboe syllabuses of the music examining boards in the UK, France and Australia.
